Anyone aged 17 and under will NOT be required to complete screening.
Receipts
Receipts will NOT be accepted for VSCs between the periods of April 1 and July 30, 2026.
The police services generally take 6-8 weeks to process an application, so anyone who is required
to submit a VSC should start the process with their police service as soon as possible. Members
can then submit their completed VSC and online Declaration form through the Ontario Screening
Submission Portal. Once they have their VSC document returned to them by police services, they
must upload a copy through the Ontario Screening Submission Portal.
Process for Those Participating in Spring Evaluations
Team Officials, On-Ice Officials or others, including dressing room monitors, that were approved
on a roster for the 2025-26 season, can participate in Spring Evaluations. Any NEW individuals must
complete their VSC Screening and Declaration form through the Ontario Screening Submission
Portal, prior to Spring Evaluations.
If a Coach/Volunteer is in this situation, they should get started on the process and request a VSC
with their police service immediately. Individuals who are involved in Spring Evaluations must be
registered in the HCR and have a valid VSC and Declaration document showing on their profile.
Process for Returning Individuals for the 2026-27 season
Team Officials, On-Ice Officials, dressing room monitors or others that are returning for the 2026-
27 season, and had their screening approved this past season with a VSC from 2024 or 2025, will
only be required to complete the online Declaration for the upcoming season. The Declaration
form 2025-26 will expire on May 31, 2026. The Online Submission Portal will open on April 1st, so
that members can complete this process.
Process for Returning Individuals with a 2023 VSC (expires May 31, 2026)
Team Officials, On-Ice Officials, dressing room monitors or others that are returning for the 2026-
27 season and had their screening approved from this past season, with a Vulnerable Sector Check
from 2023, will be required to submit a NEW VSC and complete the online Declaration for this
coming 2026-27 season. The screening for these individuals will expire May 31, 2026. If an individual
is in this situation, they should get started on the process and request a VSC with their police service
immediately.You may be required to provide a letter requesting a Vulnerable Sector Check. If a letter is required,
please use the link below to access the letter. Please ensure that you fill in the required information
prior to printing and taking the letter to your local police station.
